Born in London, Canada in 1949. Signed to Columbia Records in 1968. Toured and recorded with different bands in 60's, 70's and 80's, including Ronnie Hawkins. Recorded album of original material in 1975 but master tapes were lost and it was never released. Became radio talk show host in 1992, expended to TV and became featured newspaper and magazine columnist, too.

Massive heart attack in 1999 left him dead in ER, followed by a near death experience he later wrote about in newspaper and magazine columns. That led to a special radio program that in turn led to lectures at venues across Ontario and as far away as Seattle, Dallas, Rochester and New York. Developed "The 25-hour Day" motivational program based on his near death experience and what it taught him.

Wrote first book in 2000, has since written five more (four of which are still in print).
Long-lost album tapes found and restored 2010-1012, CD released in spring of 2012.

Performs in a 50's-60's band (Jim Chapman's Incontinentals).Collects and restores vintage cars. Lives with wife and her sister-in-law, plus three dogs and three cats.
